What a place, what a stay!! Villa is housed within a little complex about 15mins drive from central Ubud. Really quiet and peaceful during our stay. Shared pool is spectacular and a perfect temperature. We had it to ourselves each time we went for a swim. The villa is gorgeously set out with folding doors to open up all the spaces to the outside. We had a fantastic view of the rice paddies and the daily workings of the farmer. Fans for the living spaces and aircons in the bedrooms made it nice and cool even with the doors open. Bed/pillows/linen/towels were the comfiest we’ve experienced in Bali to date. The outside bathrooms were stunning and that giant bath – wow! Balinese made soaps were a thoughtful touch. We were looked after during our stay by the wonderful Kadek (housekeeper) . She makes a very tasty breakfast (included) and has a serious wealth of knowledge about all things Balinese. Kadek’s husband (also called Kadek) was our driver for 6 days and was very safe and reliable. The villa lends you a local mobile phone so calling him for collection was easy and fast. Make sure you have Wayan Suriani cook for you during your stay (villa provides her menu). We had her come 3 times and it was some of the best Balinese food we’ve eaten! This villa provides the quintessential Balinese experience with its indoor/outdoor living and front yard rice paddies. This means part of the experience is living with the wildlife – ants, geckos, frogs, ducks, bugs etc. both inside and outside the villa. Best pick a well sealed hotel if this isn’t for you. Can’t wait to return!

This place is a hidden gem – the villa has best in class amenities, the rice field view are great and the support staff is all the guides you need in Ubud. Loved the fact it’s 15 min away from the center, so we felt in the wilderness but just a short drive away from all the key spots… shout out to the awesome pool and friendly community around the villa. We’ll be back!!!

Great villa at great location. The views are amazing. Kadek, the housekeeper, is very friendly, wonderful cook and she kept the place in great shape. I am looking forward in staying here again!

Amazing home away from home… living near the rice fields with only a few minutes from Ubud center made it a great stay. The swimming pool was great for kids with great food delivery a couple minutes away. The staff was amazing and always helped taxi into town. Kids loved the geckos and frogs by the pond.. Thank you Kadek for the amazing breakfast

This property is amazing! We experienced a four night stay here and wished we had longer. Its location is just outside of Ubud to the south and offers true peace and tranquility. It is very well designed, furnished and styled. It has beautiful uninterrupted views over rice fields and is surrounded by coconut palms. The space could accommodate four people very comfortably, each bedroom havijg private bathrooms. If you want close proximity to Ubud central but with serene nature, peace and quiet this place is for you. Be sure to have Kadek’s omelette! Many thanks!!

Truly amazing villa. Wonderful design, exceptionally clean and graag service. Located in the middle of the rice paddies with excellent privacy, security. A short ride into town of about 5 minutes by car or 3 minutes by bike.

River Moon Villa is a beautiful, peaceful retreat without being far from the action of downtown Ubud. It’s as lovely as the photos! Kadek provides excellent hospitality during your stay. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend.

Where do I even begin? My family and I have travelled the world and our stay here was one of the most enjoyable and amazing experiences we have ever had. First off the villa is gorgeous. We loved waking up to the beautiful rice fields. The ducks, fish and lizards were a blast, our daughter loved checking out everything! The villa is close enough to city of Ubud but yet far enough that you aren’t in the hustle and bustle. Breakfast and coffee every morning was a wonderful way to start the day. Nyoman the regular driver was booked due to our last minute planning so he gave us his friend Putu’s contact for a driver. Upon leaving I briefly met Nyoman and he is so great, I can see why he has so many great reviews. But I must say we were so happy with Putu! He was so courteous, happy and fun to be around. We always felt comfortable with him and trusted him. He helped us with booking excursions and showed us the good places to go. He picked us up early morning or late from Ubud, he was extremely accommodating. We also booked him for 2 days where we checked out the temples, waterfalls, and other attractions. Last but certainly not least is Kadek. She is absolutely amazing and we were so sad to have to say goodbye. My daughter refers to her as “My Kadek”. Upon our arrival she helped us with any questions we had and made sure to tell us about everything we needed to know for our stay. Any further questions or concerns we had she was immediate on her responses and quick to help in any way. She watched our 2 year old daughter for two nights. When Kadek showed up to babysit it was as if my daughter didn’t even care we were around. She was fabulous with our daughter and it was so cute seeing their bond. Kadek is amazing with children. We asked her to bring her young daughter over as well and the girls played and had a blast together. We will always think back to Ubud with such great memories largely due to our amazing stay here. I urge anyone to stay here if it is available.

The property is extremely well designed. The paddy fields in the front adds untold beauty. A very serene and quiet place for a peaceful stay. Kadek the manager is most helpful. There a number of restaurants which supply food to the villa. Nyoman the driver is reliable and very helpful. The swimming pool is quite big. Overall the villa is total value for money. I recommend the villa for those looking for a tranquil holiday in Ubud.

The house is perfect located just out-site the center of Ubud. On walking distance. Not in the center of Ubud were it’s to noisy and crowded, not the place to be. This spot is exact right. “River Moon” is really beautiful, lying on a rice field with great view. The house is very practical designed in a open structure. We loved the Dutch design. The hospitality and height service level from Indonesia is well known. But here it has an extra, it feels sincerely. Staying in “River Moon” is real relaxing. If you want to undertake something, please rent a scooter. It’s real fun and in Ubud area you in the center of Bali. Don’t rent a car at the airport, but ask Norman the driver to get you from the airport. The best way to go on the Island, is by scooter. We loved or stay and are thankful to the staff who gave us a wonderful time. Thanks Thea & Dirk
